Fattoria Casaloste also produces an IGT wine, "Indicazione
Geografica Tipica." This wine, has a very limited production,
is based on the ideals of Giovanni Battista d'Orsi coming
from the historic Military School of Naples, "Nunziatella,"
where he studied from 1974 until 1978.
Our Rosso Maniero is a blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cannaiolo
Nero, expresses an invigorating youth, but at the same time,
rigorous and respecting of the traditions that for more than
200 years have lived inside the walls of Nunziatella. This
Military School, decreed by the Bourbons of Naples, was founded
in 1787 by General Giuseppe Parisi with the vision to form
the "dirigente" class and the future officials of
the Kingdom of Two Sicilies. The motto "Prepare for life
and for the army" encompasses the sacrifices and the
glory in forming beautiful, beloved Italy.
